The Notes
Tamara and Zandra explain how Zandra Beauty got it’s start
- Zandra had an obsession with lip balm and gloss and was always asking her dad for more money to purchase more.
- Her dad finally said no, which caused her to consider how she was going to get what she wanted.
- Her mom helped her doing some research about how to make her own.
- She shared her product with people at church and she realized she could start a business this way.
- Now the business includes many other skin care products like lotions, scrubs, soap and moisturizers.
- They are now found in major stores like Target and Whole Foods.
Zandra talks about how her life has looked different than her peers as a KidPreneur.
- She misses out on some opportunities, but they are really small sacrifices compared to what she has already accomplished.
Tamara talks about how Zandra’s entrepreneurial spirit was sparked.
- She thought it was just a craft kit and a way to spend some quality time together.
- The process was pretty natural but once her passion grew and she connected the dots about being able to make money on the product, it got serious real fast.
Tamara shares how her own entrepreneurial experience impacted the opportunity to support Zandra.
- Her dad was a DJ, her mom was model, and she and her brother sold candy to their friends at school for a profit.
- All this previous experience was in her but Zandra really relit the fire again for her.
Zandra talks about how her siblings have been inspired by her entrepreneurship
- Her siblings have dabbled in their own businesses, but it’s really ebbed and flowed.
- She is working with her sister on a clothing line, but her sister is the ideas girl and Zandra is the executor.
Zandra and Tamara talk about how they are in the transition of scaling
- They used to make everything in the kitchen at home
- Now they are outsourcing the production to keep up with the demand
Zandra talks about the need for community when navigating this road with a Kidpreneur
- They now own several chapters of Raising a Mogul all over the US
- They are a full-blown consulting firm.
- RAM offers brand building and group coaching and Zandra coaches the Kidpreneurs.
- The Raising a Mogul summit just happened this summer in Atlanta, Georgia.
