An effective way to “self-promote” without doing it yourself is to set up a plan for your affiliates to sing your praises for you. By following this plan, you’ll create an easy way for them to promote you with marketing materials that really make it simple. Let’s get started.
1. Create Excellent Products
This goes without saying, but it must be said anyway just to be sure that you understand this fact. If your products are great, as people learn about you, they’re going to want to jump on the bandwagon and support you because of your reputation.
2. Provide Topnotch Customer Care
When people send their audience to you, they’re trusting you to take care of them. If you provide great customer care and that gets back to the affiliates who have promoted you, they’re going to be that much more likely to promote your next products. It makes their job easy if they know their audience will be cared for.
3. Provide Your Story
You know that bio and elevator speech you’ve been working on? This is a good way to use some of that information you create and collect about yourself, your brand, and your business. Share that information freely so that they can use it in their marketing efforts to help build up your reputation as an expert in your niche.
4. Offer to Do a Webinar or Interview with Top Affiliates
If you really want to put yourself out there and give yourself and your affiliates more information to work with, offer your top affiliates the opportunity to schedule an interview or webinar with you. They would host it, record it, and then they can use it throughout all their marketing efforts. You can use clips from the interview to share with other affiliates.
5. Give Them Amazing Graphics
Get headshots of yourself taken. You don’t have to spend tons of money to get good ones. Contact your local community college or University to find photography students who need to fill their portfolio, and you can end up with amazing headshots free or lower priced. Also, create graphics for the rest of the marketing that look professional.
6. Provide Marketing Copy
Ensure that all your sales pages and any other marketing copy that you’ve had created are open for your affiliates to use in promoting your products or services. You know your target audience so letting them use the materials you know work for your audience is the best thing you can do to get them excited about promoting you.
7. Give Them Cut & Paste Email Marketing Messages
Provide to them autoresponder messages that they can easily send to their audience to lead them to your landing pages. Let them cut and paste and even edit the messages to make them their own but include the important information about why your product, who it’s for, and the problems it solves.
8. Guest Post on Their Blogs
Provide guest blog posts to your top affiliates something you write or have written just for their audience. In this case, you’ll want to alter what you say to fit their audience more directly. The best way to do this is studying their blog and find a gap in content production that you can fill with a blog post topic that fits.
9. Give Prizes & Fair Commissions
Another way to incentivize them to talk about you and promote you more is to incentivize them with a higher commission as well as different levels of cash prizes for meeting sales goals that you will set.
Your affiliates have a vested interest in promoting you. When you make money, they make money. If you make it easy for them by making it a simple cut and paste effort, they’re going to be much more likely to brag about you, your products, and your business. Everyone wins.
