The problem with driving traffic to your existing website is that websites are too busy – just look at this one! There are tons of links in the header and footer and more links in the sidebar – there are tons of places for people to get lost exploring. But this is problematic when we're using Facebook Ads to drive traffic to a website because we have a specific plan for what we want them to do. So if you're promoting your podcast, you want to give them a landing page where it is clear exactly what you want them to do – find their preferred podcasting platform and subscribe. The same is true if you are trying to grow your email list – you don't want to give people too many options! You want people to have one clear path to join your list – you don't want them to have too many other links! Driving traffic to a landing page is an effective strategy to drive conversions and build an audience that you can remarket to later!

When you are running Facebook Ads and driving traffic to a website… take a step back and evaluate what your ultimate goal is.
