Today's guest is a global leader and success coach that helps you leverage fear into intentional bravery. A celebrated public speaker, she inspires audiences and helps attendees lead bold and meaningful lives. She’s a three time published author and the executive producer and host of The Brave Files Podcast. I am excited to introduce you to, Heather Vickery!
The Notes
Heather describes how gratitude became such a helpful aspect of her life. (she was going through a divorce, coming out of the closet, and shifting her career focus) – the one thing that helped her the most was connecting with gratitude. Gratitude started to shift things with her and then she discovered that through positive psychology, science has proven that gratitude is the number one way to increase happiness and wellbeing – it decreases stress, anxiety, depression, and heart attacks – all scientifically provable. She started implementing it in her coaching practice and noticed energy shifts immediately. Our minds can not hold both negative and positive thoughts at the same time! It’s true, and scientifically proven. So, thank the negative thoughts, and then reframe them positively.
Heather’s hope is to sweep the globe with parents setting aside intentional time to talk with their kids about what their day is like, what went well, what they’re grateful for, and what their lessons were – and this will help the whole family be in control of leveling up in their own personal happiness and well being! We can do it – and so can our kids!
Listen to find out:
- The number one tip for manifesting those positive thoughts
- The best way to use the book efficiently if you have multiple children
- Different ways to reach older children who think gratitude is eye-roll-able
- How to make a gratitude practice habit.
Kids long for control – and a gratitude practice teaches them that they can have control over their own happiness and well being – and that is HUGE. I know it’s something that my daughters need right now, and I can not wait to get my hands on this book so that we can start putting our gratitude practice into motion!
