Thanks to Goo Gone for sponsoring this blog article and introducing me to my new cleaning BFF. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own!
Have you heard the expression:Cleaning with a toddler is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos #GooGone #EveryMomDay Click To Tweet
It’s true – and even more so when you have 3 other kids in addition to a toddler at home! Often times I feel like I just can not keep up with the messes. I clean one thing, and they have destroyed something else. I have discovered a secret weapon in the form of Goo Gone Original Spray Gel!
With Goo Gone, the messes are cleaned up quick enough that I have time to stop the kids from making new messes!
I was surprised to learn that Goo Gone will not only remove sticky residue from furniture, windows, and floors… but it also works as a stain remover on upolstery. With 4 kids and their friends constantly in and out of our home – our couches have seen better days. I believed that these stains were here to stay… but, with the mission of testing the capabilities of the Goo Gone Original Spray Gel, I decided to give it a go on my worst cushion. The cleaning process was easy – put the Goo Gone on a white cloth and dab it on the stain, then, use soap and water to wash the cushion. I set the cushion out in the sun for 30 minutes or so (long enough to dry in Arizona). When I replaced the cushion I was pleasantly surprised – and a believer in the power of Goo Gone! There is no way I will stop with one cushion – that whole couch will be good as new before the weekend is up!
Because it’s a gel, it also works great on vertical surfaces and the directions are simple: Just spray the gel onto the surface, watch it cling to the mess, then wipe away your sticky problem with a clean cloth! I recently made a career move away from a company called Macaroni Kid and accepted a position with KidsOutAndAbout.com (local publisher for Phoenix and National Social Media Manager!) because of that, it was time to remove the vinyl decals on my car. I was able to use a scraper to get the pink vinyl removed, but the sticky residue was stubborn. After a spray of the Goo Gone Original Spray Gel, I was able to wipe off the sticky residue with minimal effort. Now my windows are squeeky clean and ready for some KidsOutAndAbout swag!
This week was also my oldest’s 9th birthday and she got these great HexBugs mechanical fish – and needed a fish bowl for them. With so many little ones running around the house, we really wanted something with a lid, and not breakable. I found this giant container of cheese balls and thought it’d be great – but removing those labels would be a pain, right? WRONG! Goo Gone to the rescue again! The Spray Gel makes it easy to remove labels so you can repurpose all of those containers for all of your creative projects!
Goo Gone has officially made its way into my list of “must haves” – because with kids there will always be a mess to be cleaned up and they are good as gone with Goo Gone!
