It’s true, but you can protect yourself if you engage the advice of a professional attorney when necessary.
There are three types of lawyers you may need for your online business. You don’t need to pay them every single month to have them on your team, but you do need to identify them, possibly pay a retainer, and then keep them around in case something happens.

Finding someone who is well versed in all the laws regarding doing business online is more valuable than you can possibly know at this point. A Contract Lawyer
Every business either needs to sign contracts or produce contracts. If you need anyone to sign a contract, you want the contract created by your lawyer. A good contract lawyer can help you create a basic contract that you can easily add to and personalize for each of your clients if needed. They can also help you if you need to sign a contract, by reading it and ensuring your best interests are met through the agreement.
An Intellectual Property Lawyer
If you produce any type of intellectual property, from digital content to print content of all types – images, drawings, text, and more – an intellectual property lawyer can ensure that your hard work is protected.
